We aren't. The problem is due to the switch to using kwargs conflicting
with the required argument. We could switch to just using kwargs, but
then the requirement for a user name isn't as clear. Or you could remove
the username from the kwargs, but that requires the caller to know the
name of the argument in use and is also not clean.
