install/run dmraid; disks missing

Hi

I'm trying to get DMRAID to run on a system with only RAIDed disks.

I've downloaded Knoppix 3.7, which contains a 2.6.9 kernel and
device-mapper tools.

Also, I've downloaded dmraid-1.0.0-rc6-1_static.i386.rpm and extracted
dmraid with 'alien'.

When I run 'dmraid -tay', it only sees half of the disks on the RAID controller.
It sees hde and hdg which is the two first disks, but not hdi and hdk.

'dmraid'  then assembles the mirror array in degraded mode, and bails
out on the striped array since it has a disk missing.

Help! :-)
