 I would like to run this in puppet

 "set /files/etc/grub.conf/serial" or "clear /files/etc/grub.conf/serial",
 which both add the serial keyword in augtool. In puppet both fail, the
 first because something cannot convert nil to string, probably because the
 value for set is missing, the second one fails because clear is not
 exposed in the ruby bindings. I noticed that the clear method was already
 added nearly a month ago in git.
