I don't think valgrind is an option on AIX - It is not listed on their
supported platforms and I can't find a ready-made package. I had a quick
go at compiling valgrind from source, but it told me "configure: error:
Valgrind is operating system specific. Sorry."

Just tried a fresh clone from git this morning. Errors unchanged, but
the line numbers have changed, so I'm confident that I have your latest
patch. Here's the stack trace today.

It looks like we're using argz from gnulib. The output of nm gives me a
lot of line-noise, but within the random garbage I can see strings for
the argz stuff...
