[augeas-devel] Best way to submit a patch?

I've read through the http://augeas.net/developers.html page a few
times and clearly I'm a member of the list, I have an account in the
fedorahosted account system, I have looked at
http://augeas.net/page/Code_maintenance but I'm still not sure the
best way to contribute my improvements to the properties lens.

What is the best way to submit a patch?

I have a local copy of the git repo but I don't keep a github account
or a public repo anywhere for that matter. My git fu is minimal
(think clone, pull, add, commit) and while there are lots of guides
about submitting patches via git I don't know which is the preferred
way for augeas.

Can I just mail my patch to the list? In-line or attachment? Should
I open a enhancement ticket in track and attach my patch?

Regards,
-Alan
