[augeas-devel] Changing the ~/.augeas path (adhering to XDG Base Directory Specification maybe?)

Hi,

running any part of the Augeas tool chain (e.g. augtool) results in the
creation of .augeas folder in the home directory.

Is there a way to change the path of this directory (by setting some
environment variable for example)?

I think that Augeas should adhere to the XDG Base Directory
Specification[1] but an easy way to change the mentioned path to remove
the clutter from $HOME would suffice I guess.
