flashing srm on UP1000

My UP1000 has forgotten its SRM firmware,
and I'm having problems burning the 6100501a.rom
from the www.microway.com/downloads/UP1000 5.6 beta SRM.
The firmware upgrade instructions:

5) load SRM Console (6100501A.rom) from floppy;
it will go into section 7 at sector 16 for 12 sectors:

	load
	floppy	
	6100501a.rom
	<enter>
	burn 7
	<enter>

However, the "burn 7" command yields:

The region selected (-46) doesn't match the firmware!

A simple "burn" with no "section" number works to
load and flash the diagnostics and failsave roms,
but if the "burn" command is issued with no argument
after loading the SRM rom, I see:

Please select a region to reflash, or q to quit.

Entering the letter corresponding to the
region description on the console

"G) Free space (896K/896K)"

doesn't work either.

Can anyone give me a little help?
I've installed SRM on this machine before,
several years ago...
so I'm not sure what I'm missing now.
