Well, I've tried two copies of CD#1 so far (MD5SUM checked, even
burned at different speeds), and the kernel fails to be decompressed
on both copies:

	...
	aboot: loading compressed /kernels/vmlinux.gz...
	unzip: unknown compression method
	aboot: loading uncompressed /kernels/vmlinux.gz...
	Welcome to aboot 0.9b
	Commands:
	...

This happened on all the machines i tried:

	DS20
	DS10
	XP1000
	LX164

So, has anyone successfully booted from CD#1?
