Yes, it should be OK.

Where did it stop?

Right after a message about the "Serial" drivers/HW?

If so, it may be you are suffering from the "DE500-BA Blues"... :-(

Turns out, with the 2.6.11-1.1180axp_FC3 kernel on some platforms
(AS800 and AS1000A confirmed), if there is a DE500-BA (that has a
21143 TULIP chipset) controller, you can get hung if the network cable
is connected.

Simply disconnect the cable, and it may get past that point.

Painful, but it works... ;-}
