Jay,
I moved from using Redhat 7.2, to Debian Woody, Sarge, and just
recently tried Etch. It worked on both the Linux 2.4 kernels with
alsa drivers added, and the Linux 2.6 kernels. For the Linux 2.6
kernels, I have used 2.6.8 (Sarge) and 2.6.18 (Etch). I haven't
tried any of the AC releases yet.
Here is the info from the 2.6.18 alsa drivers:
(bob:2) cat /proc/asound/cards
0 [SB AWE64 PnP ]: SB AWE - Sound Blaster 16
Sound Blaster 16 at 0x220, irq 5, dma 1&5
1 [SB AWE64 Gold ]: SB AWE - Sound Blaster 16
Sound Blaster 16 at 0x240, irq 10, dma 3&6
