msn options

Well, here are the ratings:
centericq: screens gave me problems but maybe I would get used to it as I
know a lot of people like it.
Pebrot: better, but still a bit more than i wanted.
bitlbee: couldn't figure out how i was supposed to connect my chat client
to its port; also would have had to do a different config directory as I
can't write to /var/lib/bitlbee; yes, I know there would be ways to do
msnlib: this was suggested by somebody who read the message over nntp.
For me, this one wins the prize, although I realize it's
a matter of personal preference. True, not a lot of information there at a
glance, but no messy screens, no extra info, no trying to figure out what
you are doing in the middle of a chat. Just nice, simple, straightforward,
glorious TEXT!
