still trying to transfer files to and from braillelite

Ok, I guess I have two more questions.
Is there also a way to transfer FRoM the braillelite using cat--though 
usually I'd be going the other way?
and, other than using something like minicom for settings, how do I also 
check and change my computer setting so it is on hardware handshaking; i 
know how to do all that on the braillelite.
