changing dinamic ip address to static in linux?

hi,
In /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts,  You should have a file corresponding 
to your ethernet card like:
ifcfg-eth0 edit that file and restart your networking to have it take 
effect with service network restart.
You can look at /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-lo for the sintax for 
static addresses or read the sysconfig.txt file.
This file is in my case in /usr/share/doc/initscripts*/sysconfig.txt but 
jus do a locate for it.
This is still true under fedora 3 and was true for all the Redhats that 
went before.
