Bwavedit (awe)

Hello!

For one yer ago, I used the nice bwavedit program (command awe) to cut
and paste in some sound files. Now, I'm running Fedora core 3, with
kernel 2.6.10-1.741, and the playback from awe is bad!

With awe, you can play a wave file, set beginning and end marks, and
copy the marked block to another file.

Anyone who knows about a workaround for my problem, or another program
that can do such things, which is console based?
