some hardware and software questions

HEllo!
I have some questions about software and hardware in linux.
let's begin with the software ones.
1. I need to get hold of the kernel immage to use with loadlin.
Where in fedora core 2 can I find the vmlinuz file?
2. is it possible for a blind user to use msn messenger and skype in
linux?
 if not, is there any other software?
3. how do I get festival lite to use another voice than the bad default
one?

and now to the hardware
1. How do I use my usb modem in linux?
is there any howto somwhere?
2. I have an usb memory stick I would like to use.
how do I do to get this working?
