It used to be difficult but should now (advances in Linux and development of
brltty's async functionality) be relatively easy.  We could add an option to
the Linux screen driver to enable such a feature. I suspect it'd be much harder
to make this a general feature which would work on other platforms, but we
could at least start experimenting with it for Linux only.
