The easiest way to obtain your IP is to use the text mode and type the following:
ifconfig
press Enter and read the line saying: ip address or something like that.

Alternatively, you can open the website:
www.whatismyip.com

using Internet Explorer or some text-mode browsers like netrik, lynx or others
