Linux with Software Synth on Dell Enspiron2600 Laptop

	One more thing I thought of. This system has a wired
Ethernet port, a USB port and even a PCMCIA dial-up modem. I
can't imagine being able to get the Debian installation kernel
to talk to any of those devices like it would a serial port, but
if so, that would let me do a Debian install and solve this
problem. Again, thanks.
