Linux with Software Synth on Dell Enspiron2600 Laptop

knoppix gave birth to grml and I think oralux may be grml's grandparent. 
Software speech needs work in grml since it spells everything out but this 
doesn't happen in hardware speech.  grml is up to version 1.0 and has 
active support.
