fedora 8 question

Hi,

  I was on irc the other day and I was told I can't use ssh to install. 
Is ssh different to "telnet "

With telnet   I could do a full installation with my debian box? (I 
don't have a hardware synth) And one more question. If speech-dispatcher 
and speechd-up
were included  on the installation dvd would it be possible for me to 
use software  speech to install?
