Espeak

Greetings,

I have to part with my braille display for a couple of days. In order to 
function during that time, I'll have to rely on speech. Since I 
communicate 
in other language in addition to English, I've installed Espeak. It works 
from the command line, but when I run test-speech, it doesn't show.

I'm running Debian Unstable and installed Espeak from the Debian 
repository. What have I forgotten to do?
