Darn it, Geoff, you should know better than that.

rpm provides perfectly good dependency tracking. Like anything else, it
requires that the humans who maintain any given package provide the
appropriate configuration data, i.e.  the correct requires and
buildrequires statements in rpm .spec files.

In the current instance, I have not found that these statements for
brltty are sufficiently complete. So, perhaps your jibe is misdirected.
