internal vs. external synthisizers?

A point of clarification ...
Support for DEC Talk internal is not a distribution issue, i.e. Fedora
vs. Debian or some other distribution. It's a Speakup issue that has to
do with the way that very ancient card works. In other words, the
problem is the same regardless of distro.
