orca, speakup, with debian 5 problems

Hello!
I've got very much problems.
First, with orca on debian 5 I installed debian 5 yesterday, but when running orca I got very much errors, about python, tracbacks, and cannot open display.
This was ven running orca for the first time so that I could configure.
Then I installed the speakup modules for my kernel and typed modprobe speakup.soft
And everything hanged.
What is this, any other of you experienced this kind of problems?
