Pretty neat little script.
It works for me on ubuntu.
After some minor fiddling.

I will remove the ascii art to make it more braille friendly.
Add the -quiet switch to mplayer for the same reason.

There are two fine databases of radio stations I use often.
www.radio-locator.com
has thousands of stations, and it lists the audio feeds when available.
www.billsparks.org
is also nice.

It would be quite easy to get audio feed urls from radio-locator.com
just using lynx -dump and sed or grep.
