There is, if it supports serial console access, but this is mostly confined to
server and some embedded boards.

Also, if it's a server that implements IPMI 2.0, it's supposed to provide
serial over LAN, which again should be accessible with ipmitool from a remote
Linux host.

I think some workstation boards support serial console as well - mine does
not, however, even though it's a genuine workstation with ECC RAM, Intel Xeon
processors and SCSI disks.
