how to build SVox Pico from source

Does anyone know how to build the SVox Pico speech synthesizer from 
source? I want to write an Arch PKGBUILD and submit it to AUR, but I can 
find no documentation anywhere for building the code. Thanks for any 
help with this; it's one of two things I miss after migrating from 
Ubuntu. The other is python2.6, which I need to run the RSGames client. 
Apparently the precompiled code will only run on 2.6, and Arch doesn't 
keep old versions of python even in AUR.
