gcc flags

[John J. Boyer]

gcc accepts declarations anywhere in a block. However, when I compile on 
Windows I get errors because the Microsoft compilers require 
declaratives to proceed any processing statements. Is there a gcc flag 
that imposes the same requiremennt?
