LIOS, No Commandline Version?

OK back in June we had a vigourus discussion about OCR programs. Some of you 
suggested I try LIOS, which orriginally from searching, seemed like a commercial 
scanning engine? I had lots of challenges installing. So I wrote some1 from the 
project, who says there is no commandline version, but he could give me commands 
for scanning. Also, he says its completely free-and-open source. If I type lios 
here are more than 30lines of errors.

Segmentation fault
Back again live, so might their be 2 different programs called LIOS? 1 
commercial with a 100page trial version, and 2 this gtk version?
Meanwhile a couple of LUG members helped configure Tesseract so its more 
forgiving about page placement, but still not nearly what I enjoyed running 
Openbook years ago.
