Problems setting up Ubuntu 12.04

Install the openssh-client package

sudo apt-get install openssh-client

I hope I have the right name for that package. It will allow secure
access to other machines that have ssh enabled. The openssh-server
package will give you a running ssh server on your Ubuntu machine if you
need to access it from another computer. Hope this helps.
