bittorrent seeding

What's a reasonable amount of time to wait after starting seeding on 
bittorrent where you get a zero piers seeding 0 situation.  I know when I 
download torrents it may take about 5 minutes between the torrent programs 
starts trying to download and the first response from bittorrent when 
download numbers start getting larger than zero.
