changing soundcards

First, see if the card appears in this listing:

cat /proc/asound/cards

Then you can try a test. For example:

ecasound -i test.wav -o alsa,CARDNAME

You can set the default soundcard using .asoundrc
however, not all applications or audio service
layers make use of that.
