It's D-as-in-dog Link ("Dlink"), a manufacturer of networking
equipment and networked security systems.

I don't have any personal experience with them, but it looks like you
can get a wireless camera unit for under $50 (forgive the
horrifically long URL)

https://www.google.com/webhp?ie=UTF-8#tbm=shop&q=security%20cameras&tbs=vw%3Al%2Cmr%3A1%2Cp_ord%3Ap%2Ccat%3A362%2Cpdtr0%3A731707%7C731709%2Cpdtr1%3A730825%7C730826%2Cprice%3A1%2Cppr_min%3A9%2Cppr_max%3A50

Based on a quick perusal of those results, this one (again, forgive
the long URL)

https://www.google.com/shopping/product/120862948181772520?biw=1040&bih=688&q=security+cameras&psj=1&bav=on.2,or.&tch=1&ech=1&psi=DOyqVZPUEoSQyASHh6fgDw.1437264902041.9&ved=0CAQQpitqFQoTCKu05uX15cYCFYwriAodYu0Lxw&ei=3OyqVavWJozXoATi2q-4DA

seems to have the basic features you're hunting at a reasonable
cost. While obviously a security camera, it appears to be about the
size of a baseball/tennis-ball sitting on a similarly-sized base,
somewhat like a medium-sized snow-globe.

I can't vouch for the accessibility of it (it claims to have a web
interface but might require sighted help when targeting the door), but
that's certainly an option to explore.
