changing the vinux speakup keymaps

Hi,

I am trying to change the vinux keymaps to
customize the speakup review functions.
I am failing miserably at this. When I enter
the hex address for the speak line function in
my keymap file and try to load it with loadkeys
I get a memory fault, and the  key bindings
are not loaded.
I am new to speakup, so I'm probably doing something wrong.
Can    someone point me in the right direction?
