dvd's turning into coasters

When packages that had no trouble installing earlier suddenly don't
install any longer the dvd has turned into a coaster. What might be a
useful feature for many linux distros to have would be logging failed
package installs during installation. If the installation caqn complete
and the installation can get out to the network and the package updater
can get configured, then the system could remember those failed packages
and go get and install them the first time packages would be downloaded
from the network and remove each from corrupt.log until corrupt.log has a
line count of zero and then corrupt.log could be deleted. I don't know
how difficult this would be to implement though.
