Converting epubs to Plain-Text?

Hi,
I have not read the full thread, but here goes.
Install calibre, then use ebook-convert epubfile.epub plaintextfile.txt
for the most basic form.
There also is epr, a console-based epub reader.
pandoc also will do the basic epub to txt conversion for you.
