pipe-viewer downloading w/yt-dlp possible?

Ahh, -d did it. Now I'm scouring the help to figure out if I can just 
snag the audio and go from there. if jack/pulse won't work on my CLI 
only setup, downloading and playing through mpv is my next best option then
