Any suggestions of what distro of Linux I should load onto a new computer?

[Linux for blind general discussion]

After installing, I heard ’screen-reader off’, so I turned orca on.
Then I was told to reboot.
After rebooting, I turned orca on, then logged in.
Then, no speech.
Could not get orca working.
