I'm not sure what the canonical definition is, but I consider bare metal to include dual boot. Afterall, dual boot just tells you which partition to boot from, but you're still running the OS with no hypervisor layer or emulation or virtualization.

Bare metal means no dual boot, no vm, an ssd or ide or scsi hard drive is used.
