I use OpenWRT on my router, and it is indeed quite good. It does allow ssh into the system, but the web interface also works well with Orca in the usual browsers. I don't know about the text-based stuff, but I know Firefox and Chromium-based browsers work quite well with OpenWRT's LUCI interface. ~Kyle
