[dm-devel] multipath: Received an indication that the LUN assignments on this target have changed

Hi,

 everyone

This is a fateful problems then what you are talking about first. That
is the bug Hannes is talking about.

Warning! Received an indication that the LUN assignments on this target have changed.

The Linux SCSI layer does not automatically remap LUN assignments.

logged in /var/log/syslog.


Details:

there will be corruption while dm-1 is accessing/dev/sdc which it thinks is LUN3 but is now LUN 2.

Because we do not handle the sense indicating the LUNS changed, dm-1 will not change.

So right now you should do what Hannes suggests and use 'rescan-scsi-bus.sh -r'.

This will delete old mappings and setup /dev/sdXs for new ones,

or restart multipath-tool daemon.



but the corruption may have been caused.

so I think /dev/sdc,/dev/sdg should be not added the dm-1 while scsi_id have different.

but Now I don't have a right way to deal with the case. Thanks for your advise.
