Then apparently there is no cooperation or collaboration, and its
dangerous to switch back and forth between EPEL and RPMforge as both repos
add/remove features and bump release without coordinating that.

Hello what? If there is no relationship between the packages, you still
want the repositories to be mixable and packages recognisable by file
name?
