It is not a valid argument. Having a vote won't cut technical discussion 
threads.

It is battle voting. There is no consensus on this issue.

If you refer to the fedora-usermgmt threads voting won't be sufficient.
Hopefully a vote won't stop people discussing.

A steering commitee won't help cutting discussions. Or do you want that?

A steering commitee may be usefull, however if there is a decision to 
take on fedora-usermgmt. And for other decisions, of course.

(I am not convinced that my advice is very important, but I agree with
Thorsten that it is a bit too soon to have a voting body. Though I also
agree with you that it should be needed soon).
