Hey, I did some querying to find overlaps between EPEL and RHEL 4/5
today. Here's the summary of what I found:

(All of these checks were performed against i386 only.)

Overlapping file ownership:
  /usr/bin/pm
    - owned by both festival (RHEL4) and powerman (EPEL4)
  /usr/lib/c-client.a, /usr/lib/libc-client.a
    - owned by both libc-client-devel (RHEL4) and uw-imap-static (EPEL4)
    - owned by both libc-client-devel (RHEL5) and uw-imap-static (EPEL5)
/usr/include/imap (and a bunch of files under this)
    - owned by both libc-client-devel (RHEL4) and uw-imap-devel (EPEL4)
    - owned by both libc-client-devel (RHEL5) and uw-imap-devel (EPEL5)

Packages in both RHEL4 (rhel-i386-as-4 and rhel-i386-server-productivity-4)
and EPEL4:
  gsl
  gsl-devel
  perl-Archive-Tar
  perl-Compress-Zlib
  perl-IO-String
  perl-IO-Zlib
  perl-TimeDate
  pexpect

Packages both in RHEL5 (rhel5-install, rhel5-base, rhel5-cluster,
rhel5-cluster-storage, rhel5-vt, rhel5-fastrack) and EPEL5:
  dstat
  nedit
  perl-Config-General
  perl-Net-Telnet
  pexpect
  pyOpenSSL
  python-setuptools
  trousers
  trousers-devel
  trousers-static

Thanks,
Ricky
