Heh, I just reported the same bug this morning with a solution:

/me grumbles about packaging python26 modules as subpackages instead of as
separate packages.

Unfortunately, the faulty package has made it to the stable repository.

We don't unpush packages that have gotten that far (as there's no way to
unnstall them from the end user's machine :-(
