HI,

Please read the forwarded message first.

There are 10 points in the mail & these are my view on them:

Point 1: It is the main problem I think , because in the same day we have all
the lectures at Horizon at Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College(the last day of
Horizon). I think we can interact with the students simultaneously with the
other MUKTI events are going on.

Point 2: Nothing to add..

Point 3: I can arrange volunteers from Linux User Group of Durgapur (
www.dgplug.org ) to give demo on Fedora :)

Point 4: Again no problem

Point 5: Hope here mirror means a local yum repo. Need some technical details
on this..

Point 6: I am sure Rahul will cover this in his talk :)

Point 7: No problem again...

Point 8: Sure , we can..

Point 9: Here I think may be some demo of the different apps present in Fedora
Extras will work.

Point 10: .....

Waiting for your reply(s). :)

Regards,
Kushal

Hello,

    Happy New Year KD-da....

Firstly, we are sorry to reply late as it was new year time and we were
all having fun! :-) I hope you enjoyed too...

Nice to know that you are a part of this all. We were really not getting
the proper direction regarding this and now we feel much better to have you
here.

We were quite uncertain about the outcome of the conversations that we
had with Sushmit and in my mail I had primarily and completely put in words
the proposals we had been offered over phone. But we felt that these ideas
were not good enough in the long term relationship between the Fedora
Community and Linux Users' Group, NIT Durgapur. In retrospection, we
(Sushmit and us) believe that we should be sharing a much longer and
fruitful relationship. Now that we find you, we are sure that you can show
us the proper direction and thus we send you our first actual and official
proposal. Please do suggest us on how we can improve on this and extend this
collaboration further.

1) We would like to declare 15th of February, 2007 as the "Fedora Day at NIT
Durgapur"

2) By the virtue of the above me mean, that the Fedora Community may utilise
this day as a part of their program to promote "FLOSS" and Fedora.

3) The Fedora Community can actually organise some sessions on hands on
training on Fedora for newbies to attract them to GNU/Linux.

4) We believe this to be an interaction session between the contributors and
the fresh enthusiasts to inspire them to work for the community.

5) Sankarshan-da said : "How about setting up a Fedora mirror internally
for Fedora Users ? That should enable a lot of students to use Fedora
and probably find enough bugs to keep the developers busy"

We are interested to do this and we do have our own server. Can you throw
light on this as to what the requirements are.

6) We would also like a member of Linux Users' Group, NIT Durgapur to be a
Fedora Ambassador. Will you kindly suggest the ways in which this can be
achieved.

7) The community can freely distribute any material for Fedora promotion as
per their will.

8) We can have some inspiring talks on how FLOSS is important for a country
like India.

9) We can have interesting talks on how students of different departments
like Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering get benefited by the use of
GNU/Linux.

10) We warmly welcome the whole community to visit and grace MUKTI '07 and
collaborate with us in the spreading of the philosophy. All the interested
students from the Fedora Community can mingle with the 2,500+ participants
to share their view points.

We look forward to your constructive suggestions and hope that this becomes
and very fruitful endeavour for both of us.
We have always stood up and fought for the importance and greatness of the
FLOSS philosophy and we really believe we can do it better by sharing the
platform with you all.

Thanking you in anticipation
Regards
Linux Users's Group
NIT Durgapur
