Why do we need to show them Windows software ? We should always show the FOSS 
alternatives. Unless we guide the newbies properly they will be always in a 
state of uncertainty where to start using FOSS in their life. Fedora is 
always a very good entry point , I ask the students to start using it first. 
Then go ahead and learn the basics of developments.
