Linux commands will overall work the same. For example, « su » works
absolutely fine in Ubuntu.

However, if what you want is to become root on Ubuntu, then you'll
have to use « sudo » as that's what the Ubuntu devs chose.

Anyway, this list is definitely not the good place to ask such
questions. For more informations about the Ubuntu way of doing things,
I suggest you ask them, in their users forums. The same applies for
Fedora: this is not a mailing list for asking technical help.
