hi Samavedam,

i donno if this may help .. but, here is some of the list <under M$
Windows):

= Structural analysis and design (for steel and concrete structures):
   - Prokon CalcPad (General structures)
   - Axis VM (General structures)
   - CSI ETABS (General structures)
   - CSI Col (Columns)
   - SAP2000 (General structures)
   - STAAD Pro (General structures)
   - ADAPT (Post Tensioned Slabs)

= Water, stormwater and wastewater (networks)
   - Bentley WaterCAD / WaterGEMS (water networks design)
   - Bentley SewerCAD (wastewater networks)
   - EPA SWMM (Storm Water Management Model)
   - Piping Systems FluidFlow; Flite Software
   - USACE, HEC series

of course there are many more, but this list is just to give an idea about
what i'm looking for:

a) In General: Software for "Civil Engineers" to get their attention more
towards Fedora Linux and the FOSS world (If i found something here, it will
be a MAJOR strength point).

b) In Specific: software to model and design wastewater treatment
units/plants ... this is the specific point of interest under my ongoing PhD
research (in which i'm working on IndusTreat ==> Industrial wastewater
Treatment model (still under development).

so..?
