This is all well reasoned and I agree we should plan event sponsorship
into our budgets starting immediately. I would like to disentangle
event sponsorship from event funding though. My suggestion is that we
add to our budget process consideration of event sponsorship prior to
or in conjunction with consideration of event funding. Which events
this quarter should we (can we) sponsor that we are attending? I'd
like to ask that budget question first. If there is a more rational
way to allocate actual event funding I'm open to that as well. It
seems to me we mostly are just taking a wild guess now. We are trying
to learn as we go and perhaps we have enough experience now that we've
learned something that can help us do better in the future.

I've added to the agenda for the next FAmNA meeting (first Thursday in
April) a discussion of this subject.
